Other topics on which I have presented at previous Tufts Conferences:

·         Shoeing the Pelvic Limbs to mitigate the effects of Thoracic Limb Lameness. Specifically, Laminitis and Founder.

·         The use of the center of rotation of the third phalanx and the Frog to determine 
the appropriate trimming procedure for the individual horse.

·         Using Bar Shoes to prevent problems in performance horses. A prophylactic 
approach.

1999 Berkshire Blacksmiths Association. Demonstrated Farrier Forging techniques, integrating Smithing techniques and explaining shoeing history and philosophy.

1998 University of Massachusetts Equine programs Pony Club Classroom presentation of Current Farrier standards, and the roll of American Farriers Association Certification Program.

Current Clinician Topics

Trimming the Hoof using the Frog as the constant. My method of restoring proper alignment of the Hoof to the Bony Column.

The therapeutic value of Bar Shoes. How to determine when to use them . How to measure for them and how to build them. The focus is on using Kerckhaert Bar Shoe blanks to facilitate speed and accuracy in the field.

Therapeutic Horseshoeing…recovering the lame horse. A seminar for the horse owner.
